Himed Kherbache M.D.

A native of Skikda, Algeria, Himed Kherbache M.D. attended Medical School in Algiers in 1974 and obtained a MD degree in 1981. He completed a Neurosurgery residency in Mustapha University Hospital in 1986. He practiced Neurosurgery in Tizi-Ouzou and Algiers (CHU Zemirli) before moving to the United States of America in 1994. He obtained his Board-Certification in Nuclear Medicine in 2004, and currently holds a State of California license. He completed his postgraduate education in the Oregon Health Science University (OHSU) of Portland, Oregon where he did an Internship in Surgery and a fellowship in Neuro-Oncology.

Dr. Nora Berrah

Nora Berrah is Professor and head of the Physics Department at the University of Connecticut (Uconn). She was prior to 2014 a Distinguished Faculty Scholar and Professor of Physics at Western Michigan University. She received her Diplome d’etude Superieur in Theoretical Physics from the Faculté des Sciences, Université d’Alger, Algeria in 1979 and her PhD from the physics department of the University of Virginia in 1987.

Dr. Noureddine Melikechi

Dr. Noureddine Melikechi received a Diplôme d'Études Supérieures in Physics at the University of Sciences and Technology Houari Boumediene in Algiers, Algeria and a Doctorate of Philosophy (D.Phil.) in Physics at the University of Sussex in England. He is a Professor of Physics and Applied Physics and the Dean of the Kennedy College of Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Lowell.

Soraya Mellali

Soraya Mellali is a Development Strategist/Economist with over 25 years’ experience at The World Bank, UNDP, Central Bank of Algeria, and private international consulting firms (Booz Allen & Hamilton, ENORI).

Dr. Ghania Ait-Ghezala

Dr. Ait-Ghezala is a Scientist II, head of molecular biology/ genomic department at the Roskamp institute. A multidisciplinary team dedicated to understanding neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders with an emphasis on identifying and developing new therapeutics for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. She is also the Head of Molecular Biology at Archer pharmaceutical were she leads the program that is focused on developing molecular and cell biology-based screening of small molecule inhibitors.

Abdennour Abbas

Abdennour Abbas is an Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, where he also serves as an elected member of the Faculty and University Senates.

Dr. Ismael Chikhoune

Dr. Ismael Chikhoune, MD, received his doctorate in medicine at the University of Medicine of Algiers in 1982. His professional experience spans several countries and fields. Dr. Chikhoune worked at Parnet Hospital, in the field of Internal Medicine from 1982-1990. He served as the Chief of the Medical Health Department at the Algerian Ministry of Interior from 1982-1990. He served as the Doctor of the National Algerian Cycling Team from 1982-1986. He taught at the Maillot Hospital- Allied Health Military School in the field of Radiology, anatomy and physiology paramedics from 1986-1987.

Ali Feliachi

Ali Feliachi received the Diplôme d’Ingénieur en Electrotechnique from the Ecole Nationale Polytechnique of Algiers, Algeria, in 1976, and the MS and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA in 1979 and 1983 respectively.

Dr. Belgacem Haba

Dr. Belgacem Haba was born in 1957 in El-Meghaier wilaya d’El-Oued. Dr. Haba joined Google Data Center Platform in 2013. Prior He was Vice President and Senior Fellow at Tessera/Invensas since 1996. His latest activities while heading the Mobile R&D division include developing 3D technologies for mobiles and servers.

Mounia Chaib

My name is Mounia Chaib, I grew up in Algiers, Algeria (precisely in El-Harrach). It was pure privilege growing up in such a beautiful city, I carry with me wonderful memories of the times spent with family and friends. Following my graduation from High School (Ourida Medad), I studied at INELEC (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering) in the city of Boumerdes; in which English was the main language of study.

Professor Sam Beddar

Sam Beddar is a Tenured Professor at the Univ. of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in the Department of Radiation Physics within the Division of Radiation Oncology and Chief of Research within the Department of Radiation Physics. He is also Professor Adjunct at l’Université Laval, Québec City, Canada and the Univ. of Wisconsin Madison.
