Hakima Amri

Dr. Hakima Amri is a Professor of Biochemistry and Physiology at Georgetown University in the Department of Biochemistry and Cellular and Molecular Biology with over 25 years of experience in research and graduate education.

Zehor Belkhatir

Dr. Zehor Belkhatir is currently a faculty member (Lecturer in control engineering) at the University of Leicester (UoL), Leicester, United Kingdom. Dr. Belkhatir pursued her education in Algeria until she received her MEng and M.Sc. degrees from “École Nationale Polytechnique” of Algiers in Automatics and Control Systems Engineering. Then, she carried on her doctoral studies at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where she received her Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering.

Abdeldjelil Belarbi

Dr. Abdeldjelil “DJ” Belarbi is a Structural Engineer and Researcher whose research deals with the design, evaluation, and rehabilitation of reinforced and prestressed concrete bridges and buildings. He is currently the Hugh Roy and Lillie Cranz Cullen Distinguished Professor at the University of Houston and previously a Distinguished Professor of Civil Engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology.

Hind Bouk’hil

Dr. Hind Bouk’hil was born and raised in Algeria. She received her BS in Physics and her BS in E.E.A. (Electronics Electrotechnics Automatics) from University of Rennes 1 (Rennes, France). She went on to receive a M.Sc. in « Signals and Images in Biology and Medicine » (DEA « SIBM », Diplôme d’Etudes Approfondies) during which she specialized in Nuclear Physics applied to Medical Imaging. Dr Bouk’hil is the co-founder and the CEO of a french company specialized in Quality & Security in Medical Imaging.

Amar Chaker

Dr. Chaker obtained a degree of “Ingénieur Civil” from “Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées”, Paris, France and a Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Ismael Chikhoune

Dr. Ismael Chikhoune, MD, received his doctorate in medicine at the University of Medicine of Algiers in 1982. His professional experience spans several countries and fields. Dr. Chikhoune worked at Parnet Hospital, in the field of Internal Medicine from 1982-1990.
Since 2004 Dr. Chikhoune is the President & CEO of the US-Algeria Business Council (USABC), a private independent nonprofit business association working to promote trade between Algeria and the United States.

Katia Djenadi

 Dr Katia DJENADI is an assistant professor at Bouira University, Algeria. She conducts her research at the Laboratory of Applied Biochemistry in Bejaia University, Algeria. She received her BA, MS and PhD degrees from Bejaia University, Algeria. Her thesis work focused on the isolation of multi-drug Gram-negative strains from natural environment in Bejaia area, North of Algeria. As main results, she identified Enterobacteriaceae strains harbouring carbapenem resistance gene.

Leïla Hamroun-Yazid

Ms. Hamroun-Yazid, is an accomplished historic preservation architect, with over twenty five years of national and international experience providing design, planning, management and cultural analysis services primarily for existing buildings and sites. Her multilingual and multicultural background informs a nuanced perspective on the historical, political, social and economical contexts that shape interventions on the existing building fabric.

Omar Khemici

I have participated in the three Summer University programs organized so far by AAF. Through this unique experience, my feeling of finally finding a path to serve back my country was available and is sustainable. This feeling provided me with satisfaction and encouraged me to submit my nomination to be part of the AAF Board to continue this noble endeavor.

Taha Merghoub

Dr. Taha Merghoub is the Deputy Director of the Meyer Cancer Center at Weill Cornell Medicine (WCM), New York. He is also Professor of Pharmacology, Professor of Immunology Research in Medicine and Margaret and Herman Sokol Professor of Oncology Research at Weill Cornell Medicine (WCM), New York. He is the director of the Ludwig collaborative and swim across America laboratory at WCM.

Ahmed Senouci

Dr. Ahmed Senouci is a Civil Engineer and Researcher whose research falls into three focal areas: 1) planning and scheduling, 2) infrastructure asset management, and 3) sustainable construction material. He is currently an Associate Professor of Construction Management at the University of Houston and previously a Professor of Civil Engineering at Qatar University.
